'Bridge in the Woods' is the final piece from a series of sketches of my favourite walk in a woods in Sussex, which has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember.

As well as the bridge being a focal point for the work, there is a tree root in the bank which for many years moved down the river during floods, and was eventually removed to the bank. It reminds me of David Nash's famous work 'Wooden boulder' and has parallels to my work rooted in the Sussex countryside.

The work has been completed on A2 200gsm Windsor and Newton paper ,traditionally mounted with a white mount, in a contemporary wood white wash frame, under glass.
